7Gypsies Week @ BlueMoon!

Any time is a good time to check out

the blog for Blue Moon but this week REALLY is! They are featuring a 7 Gypsies kit called Autumn Spice, how is that for a yummy name? (and since I won that Blue Moon kit a few weeks ago, I'm kinda' partial to those folks!)

National Nut Day....

Did you even know there was such a day? (I was wondering how you could pick one when so many of my days are nutty days....)

For one of the October THAW challenges at Willow Traders we were to do a lo celebrating it. (I do believe the origin of the day was meant to celebrate acutal nuts ie:pecans, cashews, etc. but what fun would that be?) The super hero pictures I took of Rick (and posted here) came to my mind right away. I grabbed up papers and embellies that came from TTT Rough and Tough and I thought they were perfect for this! Thickers were x-tra. I made the journaling out of a transparency which is one of my favorite things to do.

One thing tho, that I'm wondering is that old saying about the nut doesn't fall very far from the tree....oh wait! That was apple so I have nothing to worry about!

I AM

One thing I really like about kits (and I like many things about kits!) is that I always have paper on hand that I probably wouldn't have purchased in the store had I seen it on the racks. That same paper that I wouldn't have picked out seems to sometime or other fit in with what I'm scrapping. The papers for this lo were from TSR's April 2007 kit (everything except the flowers and the life embellie) and I'm sure when I got the kit, I thought now what in the world will I ever use these on. I finally put them to use this past weekend, for my "I AM" lo. Do you see where the title is? The "I AM"? Well, that is there because on the paper it's printed "I Love You", and I really didn't think that fit!

The lastest THAW challenge at Willow Traders was to evalutate my life. Hmmmm....you know sometimes that can just be a really hard thing to do because it can make you squirm! I took the easy way out and listed what I am, choosing of course only the good things!

Duh......

Let me get to the duh..... first and then I'll tell you about the inspiration for this lo!

I had seen lots of very cute lo's using Martha Stewarts Drippy Goo punch, and knew that if I purchased it, I could use it several times. We don't have a Michaels or any store close by that might carry it so when we needed to deliver parts for our small business to a cherry canning shop, I jumped at the chance to be the one to do it. I knew there was a Michaels on the way! I stopped but you know where this story is going, they didn't have it. Sigh....so I scoured over the punches they did have and the icicle one, and I thought well I could always use this on Christmas cards, snow layouts and it kinda' looks like drippy icecream.

I came home, made this layout for Willow Traders THAW challenge. Now if you would take a really close look at my layout you'll see that it's NOT icicles!

Did you look? Did you see my mistake? My husband took one look at it and said that's cute (he's says all my lo's are cute even when they aren't!) but why do you have an upside down skyline on it? Banging my head against the palm of my hand.............

Sigh....(again...)

This lo was inspired by the THAW challenge over at Willow Traders that we were to use the colors of our favorite dessert. I got so hungry for my favorite dessert thinking about it, that I decided just to bake one up and do the lo not only of the colors but of the dessert! (another specfic of the challenge was to use lower case letters for the title)

Remember that kit I won?

I used it!

(Just a refresher, it was a Blue Moon kit that I won in a drawing at Willow Traders. ) That kit had some fantastic "stuff" in it! I had so much fun sifting thru the paper and the embellies to come up with this layout of Angel. Everything used on the lo is from the kit minus the gold thickers and white ribbon (did you see those cute pearls down by the flower?).

The challenge that I created this lo for was to choose a lo and "lift it". I choose one by Delores "Autumn in the Ozarks", at the Zany Zinnia site. (many great ones to choose from so that part was kinda' hard!)

Just Like Ricky

Brandon is now in the 8th grade but these are his very first school pictures! His first day of Pre-school. He was so excited to be "just like Ricky!"

This LO was done for a challenge on Willow Traders for the October Thaw Challenge. We were to choose from Yellow/White (I chose both), Blue/Green (again I choose both) and Circles/Triangles (I went with circles). These choices came from celebrating National Moldy Cheese Day! How fun is that!

Sigh.....

Look at how sweet and wonderful this little boy was! Cute eh? Rick would go out exploring and the whole world was his for the taking.... and now look! This is what he wore for SuperHero day for Sprit Week @ school. It appears the whole still is his for the taking and because I'm his mom I would say that he still is sweet and wonderful...
